On our way home from a warehouse sale in Secaucus we drove by a building being demolished. Dave said it used to be a mall, and when he was a kid his mom brought him here to buy shoes on the second floor. Stop the car!
This is the first negative on the first roll of film I shot with the Leica M4 Dave got me for Valentine’s Day. I’m still in shock really that I carry this camera around everyday. Who am I? Also it should be noted that I rarely shoot vertically. I took a second shot horizontally, but this is probably the better of the two. Maybe I see the world in a whole new way….or something?
Dave hopped out of the car and shot his version of the same subject with one of his phones….
Dave was able to instantly upload his photo (he got three likes on instagram) and I’m just now getting around to scanning the negatives 2 months later. It’s a kind of interesting comparison. More shadow detail with the Leica for sure, but there is a lovely kind of softness with the phone. What do you think?
