We have a nice little vintage camera collection. We picked up quite a few of our cameras at estate sales. When you unpack your score, if you are a very lucky person the old camera you grabbed will have a half exposed roll of film inside. Most of the rolls we’ve found are color. The sad thing about color film is it degrades over time, if improperly stored. So, you could develop a roll and get a bunch of blanks, or you can develop a roll and see history.
These strangers are awesome. How do I know, you ask? We have the same interests in film cameras, bicycle culture, timer selfies, meeting interesting characters, seafaring, and documenting backyard wildlife. I’m fairly certain we could hang out with these people. Seriously…how much do you want his hat??
Want to read more about our collections: here, here, and here.
I would love to know if you’ve developed a roll of a stranger’s film? What small part of history did you see?
